The first time I met Bob he was covered in grease with his shirt off, ripping apart the engine of his boat in the front yard of his house. Quite a daunting site for the new California boyfriend of his eldest daughter. All fear faded as I got to know this wonderful man that eventually became my father-in-law. Being so far away from my own dad, Bob became a second father figure for me. Teaching me instead of doing it for me, helping me with anything I needed, riding me a little when I deserved it. I learned a lot from Bob including how to do things almost right (use what you have), how to handle the Hauptmann women (advice I use to this day), and most importantly how to spend time enjoying your family. Bob, I will miss your advice, your company, and your sense of adventure. I owe you much.. Jeff
